GetTheQuote is a software service that helps contractors and small home improvement professionals create, manage, share, and approve quote pages for renovation, painting, decorating, and similar projects.

Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- Contractors and account holders who sign in and use GetTheQuote.
- Customers and quote recipients who view or approve quote pages.
- Visitors who access our website or public quote pages.
This policy does not cover privacy practices of contractors who use GetTheQuote to send quotes to their own customers. Contractors are responsible for their own customer communications, legal notices, and privacy obligations.
Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories.
Account and Authentication Information
When you sign in, including through Google, we may receive account information such as:
- Name.
- Email address.
- Profile image or avatar.
- Authentication provider identifiers.
- Login and session information needed to operate your account.
Business Profile Information
Contractors may add or edit business information, including:
- Business or contractor name.
- Logo.
- Email address.
- Phone number.
- Website.
- Service area.
- License number.
- Insurance or badge text.
- Brand colors and display preferences.
- Default quote terms, exclusions, and timeline settings.
Business profile information may be displayed on quote pages and may be visible to people who can access those quote pages.
Quote and Project Information
Contractors may create and store quote content, including:
- Quote numbers.
- Project names.
- Customer names.
- Customer email addresses or phone numbers if added to a quote or profile workflow.
- Project addresses or project areas.
- Project overview, notes, included work, excluded work, terms, and timelines.
- Scope items, quantities, optional items, prices, totals, approved totals, and selected scope.
- Quote status, creation dates, update dates, and validity dates.
- Saved quote templates.
Photos, Logos, and Uploaded Files
Contractors may upload business logos and quote images, such as project photos or inspiration photos. Quote images are used to display visual context on quote pages.
Do not upload images that contain unnecessary private information, payment details, government identification numbers, medical information, or information you are not authorized to share.
Quote Approval Information
When a customer approves a quote, we may collect and store:
- Approver name.
- Signature image.
- Approval timestamp.
- Approved total.
- Approved scope selection.
- Related quote details.
Approval does not collect payment through the quote page.
Communications and Support Information
If you contact us, we may collect:
- Name and contact information.
- Message contents.
- Support history.
- Information needed to investigate and respond to your request.
If quote approval emails or related notifications are sent, our email provider may process email addresses, message content, delivery information, and related technical metadata.
Technical and Usage Information
When you use the service, we and our service providers may collect technical information such as:
- IP address.
- Browser type.
- Device type.
- Operating system.
- Referring pages.
- Pages or quote links accessed.
- Dates and times of access.
- Error logs and diagnostic information.
We do not use advertising pixels or cross-context behavioral tracking unless described in this Privacy Policy.

- Provide, operate, and maintain GetTheQuote.
- Authenticate users and manage accounts.
- Create, save, edit, display, share, and approve quote pages.
- Display contractor branding and contact information on quote pages.
- Store project photos, business logos, quote templates, terms, and quote history.
- Send quote approval notifications and service-related communications.
- Respond to support requests.
- Improve reliability, security, and product functionality.
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use GetTheQuote to decide contractor eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or other purposes covered by consumer reporting laws.
Public Quote Links and Visibility
GetTheQuote is designed to help contractors share quote pages with customers by link.
Draft quotes are intended for contractor use. Non-draft quotes or shared quote pages may be viewable by anyone with access to the link. Public quote pages may display quote details, project information, photos, prices, contractor profile information, approval status, and approval details if the quote has been approved.
Quote pages may be configured to discourage search engine indexing, but we cannot guarantee that a link will remain private if it is forwarded, posted, screenshotted, indexed, archived, or otherwise shared by someone with access.
Contractors should review quote content before sharing a link and should avoid including unnecessary personal, confidential, or sensitive information.
How We Share Information
We may share information in the following ways.
With Contractors and Quote Recipients
Quote pages are shared with the people who receive or access the quote link. Contractors can view and manage quote information for quotes in their account. Quote recipients can view quote pages made available by link and may submit approval information.
With Service Providers
We use service providers to operate the service. These providers may process information for hosting, database storage, file storage, authentication, email delivery, security, diagnostics, and similar operational purposes.
Service providers we use may include:
- Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage.
- Google for OAuth sign-in.
- Resend for email delivery.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers used to run the application.
Service providers are allowed to process information only as needed to provide services to us, subject to their own terms and data processing commitments.
For Legal, Safety, and Security Reasons
We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with law, legal process, or government requests.
- Enforce our Terms of Service.
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of GetTheQuote, users, customers, or others.
- Detect, prevent, or investigate fraud, abuse, security issues, or technical problems.
Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
We do not currently sell personal information. We do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
If we add advertising, retargeting, data sale, or similar practices in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any required notices and choices.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
The service may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to:
- Keep users signed in.
- Maintain sessions.
- Remember application preferences.
- Support security and basic service functionality.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain accounts, support quote history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security.
Contractors may delete quotes or uploaded images through available product controls where supported. Deletion may not immediately remove all copies from backups, logs, email records, audit records, or systems where retention is required or permitted by law.

Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. These may include authentication controls, row-level access controls, storage permissions, provider security controls, and operational monitoring.
No internet service can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for using a secure account, protecting access to your email and Google account, and limiting what sensitive information you include in quotes or uploaded files.
Your Choices
Depending on your relationship to the service and your location, you may be able to:
- Access, correct, or update account and business profile information.
- Delete quotes, templates, or uploaded images where product controls are available.
- Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of personal information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing where applicable.
- Request a copy of certain information.
- Opt out of marketing emails if we send them.
To make a privacy request, contact support@gethequote.com. We may need to verify your identity or authority before responding.
If you are a customer or quote recipient, the contractor who sent you the quote may also control parts of the information in the quote. We may direct some requests to the relevant contractor when appropriate.
International Users
GetTheQuote may be operated from, and information may be processed in, the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.
Users in some locations may have additional rights under local privacy laws. To make a privacy request, contact support@gethequote.com.
Children's Privacy
GetTheQuote is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact support@gethequote.com and we will take appropriate steps.
Contractors should not include children's personal information in quotes or uploaded images unless they have the legal right to do so and it is necessary for the project.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as posting the updated policy in the application or sending notice to the email associated with an account.
The updated policy is effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated.
